workshop street photography Saudi Arabia…
One day I got an email asking about organizing a workshop for a group of girls studying photography at the SHUTTERBUGS CLUB, in Saudi Arabia.. It looked like a strange, different request compared to the one I usually get…
Anyway the thing became a plan and the day arrived, so my friend & photographer Gabriele Noziglia Joined to help me.
People in Saudi Arabia live in a really different world than our..and meeting people of different culture and learning about new experiences is what I live for and made me choose the work I do…
We started explaining street photography as a personal diary photography thing, we watched books of big photographers and examples from my colllection, and at the end we took a sunny Saturday afternoon to walk a long walk in the crowded streets of Milan to express our point of view on photography.
Is a common thing to think at Saudi Arabia as a closed minded place..I was really excited and interested to look at what the pictures will show up at the end..and I was really happy how much full of life and desire they were.
They were opened to new experience, happy and curious to a different world..incredible if you think that they can’t walk around free, or drive, in their country. I started to think at many people I costantly meet here that lost desire and excitement on life even having all the chances on their hands daily.
I talked to a girl confused by not knowing what to shoot, sice she was seeing too many valid things to shoot..she said her picture were lame..I took a look at the backscreen of his Nikon together with gabriele and we were surprised of how much life was in those picture..
18 girl & Photographers confused and excited from this thing called freedom that sometime people forget to have….seeing such a fresh way to take photos, with joy and Innocence, listening to their stories, really made my day.
All pictures have been taken from the shutterbugs club.
